Beautiful Gardens and Parks in Paris

Paris. known for its many elegant parks, boasts a large number of very diverse parks to visit. While some date back to the 17th century, many more modern parks have been created in the last couple of decades. Whether you fancy award-winning roses, maze-like patterns of shrubbery, or water-lilies worthy of the attention of an artist, there’s a park or garden for everyone to enjoy in Paris.

Here are some of the interesting parks and gardens in or near the historic centre of Paris.

 

1. Luxemburg Gardens:

 

Luxembourg Gardens is the second largest public park in Paris. Established by Italian monarch Marie de Medicis in the mid-17th century, Luxemburg Gardens and its Florentine-style palace is arguably Paris's most popular place to seek fresh air and sun, to stroll, and relax.

Tourists will appreciate the park's botanical arrangements, dramatic Renaissance-style layout and elegant statues of France's queens. Take a Dover ferry to Calais, and enjoy Luxembourg Gardens unique and relaxing Parisian atmosphere.

 

2. Tuileries Garden:

 

Tuileries Gardens is one of Paris's most visited gardens thanks to its central location between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Tuileries Gardens has two smaller museums: the Orangerie, famous for its Monet's waterlilies, and Jeu de Paume.

Originally it was an Italian-style garden, until it was entrusted to landscape architect Andre Le Nôtre who turned it into a huge and magnificent French-style garden. Today, the museum also features several fountains and numerous sculptures.

 

3. Parc Montsouris:

Parc Montsouris is a public park in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. It's 1,400 trees, many of them at least a century old, provide poetic shade, and there's plenty of room to sprawl out and picnic. Kids will enjoy the park for its many playgrounds, pony rides, and traditional puppet theatre. The site stretching over more than 15 hectares, was designed and built by Alphand.

 

4. Bois de Vincennes:

On the east side of Paris is an immense stretch of green called the Bois de Vincennes, also referred to, along with the Bois de Boulogne to the east, as "Paris' Lungs". It’s a great place to explore on foot, on horseback, or by boat. Spread over an incredible 2,400 acres, the public park of Bois de Vincennes has been offering Parisians welcome respite from the urban bustle since the 12th century. At the east end of the park, the idyllic Parc Floral is home to an impressive array of flowers and botanical gardens.

 

5. Parc André Citroën:

Parc André Citroën is a 14 hectare public park located on the left bank of the river Seine in the XVe arrondissement of Paris. The park sits on the banks of the River Seine and entices visitors to come and play, stroll, or just sit for a while. Its design is based on four themes: artifice, architecture, movement and nature. The Parc Andre Citroen and its thematic gardens, unique architecture, and fusion of organic and industrial elements make a visit here both worthwhile and memorable.

Yeah Paris is an amazing destination with lots of entertainment,fun,fashion etc. On a ferry to France, it comes as one of the top most visited city.
